Dental implant is a dental procedure to replace the missing tooth taking support from bone. A titanium post replaces the root portion of a missing tooth. Is dental implant painful?

The procedure itself is not painful as it is performed with general or local anesthesia to numb the mouth. After implantation, once the anesthesiatic effects wears off, the patient may feel mild pain. This pain is less than the pain of tooth extraction.

How long does implant last?

The dental implant screw can last a lifetime with regular brushing and flossing. Patient have to do regular dental check-ups every 6 months. The crown usually only lasts about 12 to 15 years.
