Diastema Closure
A diastema is a space between two teeth. It is usually located between the upper central incisors(front teeth) but it can be located between any two teeth in the mouth. Diastemas are closed by different treatment options. One of them is orthodontic treatment but it takes a long time to get the wanted results. Another option is direct or indirect composite restoration, a highly successful technique is addition of composite and the patients get the results after the first visit. Porcelain veneers, dental crowns and bridges can also be an option for diastema closure.
Is there any harm to the teeth during/after the treatment?
During this treatment, the teeth are not cut. So no tissue loss occurs in the teeth facing the space. Adhesive restorative material is use to apply directly to the cavity facing teeth after surface preparation.
How many sessions lasts for Diastema Closure?
Usually the process may take only one session or sometimes it may take two or three sessions as the duration of treatment varies according to the gap to be closed.
