Gum Surgeries
Gum surgery is a procedure to treat thinning gums or gum recession. With this common procedure, surgeons make small cuts in your gum and lift a section of tissue back. They remove tartar from your tooth. Gum grafting covers exposed teeth roots and adds volume to your gum line. The gums are sutured back, and the tissue fits firmly around your teeth. It takes usually one to two weeks to recover, but it may take longer.
Is gum surgery painful?
The gum surgeries procedure itself is painless as the anesthesia will ensure you are thoroughly numb. When anesthesiatic effects have worn off you may feel some pain or discomfort will be relieved by medication. Exactly pain feeling can vary greatly by individual.
